Cobscook Bay State Park is Ideal for the camper seeking solitude and beautiful scenery
The Park, surrounded on three sides by the salt waters of Cobscook bay has over 100 well spaced and secluded campsites, many of these campsites are located at the water’s edge and provide excellent vantage points to the ebb and flow of the tides.
The Name Cobscook comes from the Indian word meaning “Boiling tides”.
The average tide his 24 feet with some running as high as 28 feet. At low tide, adventuresome campers may dig for the delicious soft shell clam.
Over 200 different species of birds, including the American Bald Eagle have been identified in the park and in the nearby Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge, wild flowers abound in woodlands and meadow and along the road sides.- Boating
