Maine Shakespeare Festival

For many of us, it wouldn’t be summer without Shakespeare in the park. Once again, the distinguished Penobscot Theatre Company will be bringing the works of the Bard to Bass Park for all to enjoy in Bangor. The Maine Shakespeare Company is a beloved summer tradition that is a big favorite with locals and visitors alike as the public is treated to earnest, professional quality performances staged by the Penobscot’s talented artists.

This year’s plays take place throughout July and August and will feature two of Shakespeare’s most famous productions: the tragic “Macbeth” and the fanciful “As You Like It.” Two other presentations are also worth viewing: “Alice in Wonderland” by Lewis Carroll and the audience pleasing “The Fantasticks” by Schmidt and Jones. So be sure to bring your blanket or lawn chair, settle back, and enjoy Shakespeare worth seeing this summer in Bangor!
